[OVERVIEW]

Deoxys-S is usually considered to be a good utility lead with very little offensive presence. Deoxys-S is normally utilized as a hazard stacker, since it has access to both Stealth Rock and Spikes, while also utilizing Taunt to prevent removal of hazards via Defog and to prevent him from becoming victim of Taunt himself. However, Deoxys has respectable offensive stats and a very wide, mixed move pool coupled with a overwhelming Speed stat that not only outspeeds max speed base 130 Speed with a neutral nature and no investment, but also outspeeds every scarf user under the base 105 Speed tier with maximum investment and a positive nature, which allows Deoxys to defeat very delicate threats to the type, such as Scarfed Genesect and Heracross, and +1 Volcarona, Mega-Gyarados, and Mega-Sharpedo. Deoxys-S. Deoxys-S, however, shares weaknesses with most of his teammates and has a very low Hp stat which means that he cannot reliably switch in to many attacks and lacks the power to properly sweep or do much damage outside of revenge killing, all the while severely suffering from 4MS. Don't let his short comings dissuade you from using Deoxys-S on one of your teams, though, as Deoxys can often be a bigger asset than Victini due to his very specialized move set.

[SET]

Anti-Meta All-Out Attacker

Deoxys-Speed @ Life Orb

Ability: Pressure

EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe

Naive Nature

- Fire Punch

- Superpower

- Psycho Boost/Zen Headbutt

- Rock Slide/Ice Beam/Ice Punch/Knock Off/Extreme Speed/Substitute

[SET COMMENTS]

This set is used to lure and eliminate very specific threats to the type. Fire Punch is primarily there for Genesect, as Deoxys-S not only outspeeds a scarf varient, but ohkos it 100% of the time. Superpower is great coverage moves that allows Deoxys-S to OHKO every Tyranitar varient, as well as landing the OHKO on Mega-Sharpedo. Superpower also allows you to do a minimum of 65% damage to 248 HP Mega-Gyarados and a minimum of 77% to 0 HP Mega-Gyarados, which should either KO him from the damage he took setting up. Superpower also allows Deoxys-S to revenge kill unorthodox threats, such as a Scarfed Krookodile. Psycho Boost and Zen Heatbutt is a matter of preference, as Psycho Boost generally deals more damage to bulky Fighting types that love to spam Knock Off, or to more psychically defensive walls, such as Conkeldurr, Hippowdon, Avalugg, and Swampert, but leaves with a nasty side affect of not being able to properly utilize the move once again before switching out. Psychic can be another option, but it is generally not preferred due to Psychic having a chance to not OHKO Scarfed Heracross. The last move slot can be utilized to target any other specific threat that you wish, but should be given preference to Rock Slide. Rock Slide OHKOs Bulkarona 94% of the time, who can easily 6-0 a Psychic team with a Lum Berry or Substitute set.. Ice Beam can be used to threaten Flying monos and general bird spam. More specifically, it can be utilized to OHKO Scarf Landorus-T, who would otherwise be a problematic threat due to his usage in VoltTurn cores. Ice Punch can be used over Ice Beam if Psycho Boost is being used as well, but note that a -1 Ice Punch from an Intimidate can only OHKO offensive Landorus after he's gone through two rocks switch ins. Knock Off can be used against opposing Psychic types, who wall Deoxys-S otherwise, and allows Deoxys to serve as utility. Extreme Speed can be used if your team lacks speed control outside of Deoxys, and Substitute is an option to more reliably defeat Bisharp.

Usage Tips
========

While technically not a glass cannon, Deoxys-S is best used as a hit and run revenge killler, as the combination of hazards, Life Orb recoil, and priority can wear him out quickly.

Team Options
========

Deoxys is best paired with bulkier mons to fall back on to in a revenge killing attempt. Slowbro has great psyical bulk that allows Deoxys plenty of room to switch out of a sticky situation. Assault Vest Meloetta/Gallade or specially defensive Jirachi can also accomplish the same. Mega-Medicham and Mega-Gardevoir also appreciate faster threats being eliminated and make excellent partners.

Hazards Lead
Deoxys-Speed @ Focus Sash
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Taunt/Magic Coat
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes/Magic Coat
- Skill Swap/MagIc Coat

The is more of a hyper offensive, hazard spiking lead. Taunt allows Deoxys-S to continue stack hazards and prevent the use of Defog as Deoxys has the fastest Taunt in the game ignoring Prankster users. Magic Coat is is also an option to allow Doexys to out prioritize a Prankster Taunt and allow it to do its job. Skill Swap allows Deoxys to bypass Magic Bounce, insuring Deoxys to get Stealth Rocks up or a minimum of one layer of Spikes in conjunction with a Focus Sash.

Dual Screens Lead
Deoxys-Speed @ Light Clay
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Taunt/Magic Coat
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Knock Off/Magic Coat

Deoxys-S can also pull off a quick dual screens lead to allow a team member to set up and provide immediate offensive pressure. Taunt allows Deoxys to keep your side of the field free from hazards and prohibits anything from setting up, while Magic Coat prevents you from being Taunted by Prankster users. Knock Off is here to purely provide utility, but a Taunt bait set with Taunt and Magic Coat can be utilized as well, seeing as how both moves prevent Deoxys from actually becoming Taunt bait.

While Deoxys-S can also be utilized as a support lead, a hazard stacking approach is not recommended, however, constant offensive pressure has to be applied in order for said hazards to remain on the field, and Psychic is a type that cannot do hyper offense too well. Deoxys-S can also serve as a rapid screens setter, but his bulk generally leaves him outclassed by the likes of Cresselia or Mewostic, who can do that job and better, while having better switch in opportunities.

Checks and Counters
===================
Counters
Bulky ghost types, such as Mega-Sableye, Jellicent, and Doublade can counter most Deoxys sets, as it will usully be immune to half of its set and take very weak, nuetral damage from the rest of his coverage moves.
Bulky Psychic types, such as Mew and Slowbro.

Checks
Dark/Ghost types with priority. Deoxys is almost always forced out against the likes of Aegislash, Spritomb, Absol, and Bisharp.
Any bulky mon can generally scare Deoxys out, as Deoxys usually fails to 2HKO bulky sets and risks being fainted in the process.

**Insert Threat Here**: Deoxys-S can becoming threatening due to his speed and unpredictable movepool. Revenge killing attempts can often end with a nasty consequence if Deoxys happens to be carrying the required coverage move, such as Ice Beam for Scarfed Landorus-T or Fire Punch for Genesect. Very few things can actually outspeed it, and its movepool is wide enough to hit a majority of the tier for super effective damage.

Great writeup, check my comments below and implement them, or let me know if something's wrong.

You should mention here that its 252+ speed you're talking about

[SET]

Anti-Meta All-Out Attacker

EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe

Naive Nature

- Fire Punch

- Superpower

- Psycho Boost/Zen Headbutt

- Rock Slide/Ice Beam/Ice Punch/Knock Off/Extreme Speed/Substitute

In my opinion, you should give preference to rock slide- in keeping with the primary purpose of defeating specific threats to a psychic team, and volcarona (and other bugs in general) are certainly one of them. Also, I don't think substitute is worth mentioning here on the main set as it isn't the best option due to Lo recoil and kind of frail defensive stats.

[SET COMMENTS]

Superpower is great coverage moves that allows Deoxys-S to OHKO every Tyranitar varient, as well as landing the OHKO on Mega-Sharpedo. Superpower also allows Deoxys-S to revenge kill unorthodox threats, such as a Scarfed Krookodile.

You can also add here that superpower deals with a +1 Mega gyarados that has taken a little prior damage, which can otherwise be a great threat to a psychic team.
Psycho Boost and Zen Heatbutt is a matter of preference, as Psycho Boost generally deals more damage to bulky Fighting types, such as Conkeldurr, but leaves with a nasty side affect of not being able to properly utilize the ove once again before switching out.
Actually, zen headbutt does more damage to AV conkeldurr, so maybe you can edit the sentence to look more like 'Psycho Boost deals more damage to physically defensive walls like hippowdon and avalugg.'
The last move slot can be utilized to target any other specific threat that you wish. Rock Slide OHKOs Bulkarona 94% of the time. Ice Beam can be used to threaten Flying monos. More specifically, it can be utilized to OHKO Scarf Landorus-T, who would otherwise be a problematic threat due to his usage in VoltTurn cores. Ice Punch can be used over Ice Beam if Psycho Boost is being used as well, but note that a -1 Ice Punch from an Intimidate can only OHKO Landorus after he's gone through two rocks switch ins.
Alternatively, the set can run max spA if one is using Psycho boost and ice beam as the last two moves, as it doesn't need to be attack invested to be able to OHKO genesect and mega sharpedo with fire punch and superpower respectively. That way you can get a more powerful stab move to help revenge kill other threats that psycho boost hits neutrally, like a weakened +1 mega altaria.

Deoxys-S can also be utilized as a support lead. You should mention the details of the set, as in how taunt counters other hazard leads and prevents defog, magic coat can deal with prankster taunt, and how Skill Swap lets you set hazards when the opposing mon has Magic Bounce.
A hazard stacking approach is not reccomended, however, as constant offensive pressure has to be applied in order for said hazards to remain on the field, and Psychic is a type that cannot do hyper offense too well. Thank you for the suggestions, Pika. This has been updated.
I kept substitute on the first set detail as an option, as bisharp is a massive threat to the type, and generally goes for the sucker punch rather than a knock off or swords dance/pursuit against deoxys. however, i did give preference to rock slide
as of now, i have not added the specially biased option on the set details, as ice beam and psycho boost clash, but I can include it and specify the revenge killing bonuses of a 252 psycho boost if needed
