Job Title: Software Engineer 

Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid – 4 days remote, 1 day onsite)
Duration: 5 months (with possible extension)

 

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer  for a hybrid remote opportunity. The role involves analyzing and optimizing system performance, troubleshooting bottlenecks, and implementing solutions to enhance scalability and efficiency.

 

Responsibilities: 

• Analyze and optimize application/system performance across multiple tiers.
• Identify and resolve performance and scalability bottlenecks.
• Simulate system traffic/load and analyze component behavior.
• Optimize code, queries, and system configurations for better efficiency.
• Analyze Oracle wait events, AWR raw data, and system behavior.
• Generate and interpret AWR, ASH, and ADDM reports.
• Present technical findings to both technical and non-technical teams.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) on performance issues.
• Support production and non-production environments.

 

Minimum Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience in performance analysis, system optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Strong expertise in Oracle databases (Exadata, AWS, non-Exadata tuning).
• Proficiency in Linux shell scripting, SQL tuning, and session tracing.
• Experience in AWR, ASH, ADDM reporting and raw data analysis.
• Ability to predict system behavior under full load/stress.
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills (Visio, Erwin, MS Office).
• Experience working across multiple teams with the ability to prioritize tasks.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in Agile and JIRA.
• 4+ years of experience with a degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in healthcare, handling PII/PHI data and working with HL7 data.

 

Work Details:

• Location: Hybrid (4 days remote, 1 onsite day per week).
• Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM.
• Local candidates only.
