Hi -

Thanks for putting Monologue together. Its very smooth and easy to get going with.

I'm having a problem though with commenting. I've registered at disqus and have an account, but no commenting is appering on my posts.

I see in the monologue page there is a script tag where you set:

var disqus_shortname = ""

I presume that via the monologue.rb config file, the value I place in Monologue.disqus_shortname should appear in the script tag? Though I have the disqus_shortname line in my config file, it doesn't appear to be flowing through to the the browser.

Am I missing something? Or perhaps there is another reason why my commenting isn't working?

Ben

Glad you like it! :)

Which version are you using? Also, did you use https://github.com/jipiboily/monologue/wiki/Configuration to get some config examples?

That variable should certainly not be empty in the first place. If you followed all those steps but it still doesn’t work, file an issue on GitHub, it might be a bug…?

Hi -

I'm using the v. 0.3 that I found here: https://github.com/jipiboily/monologue/tree/0-3-stable

I'm using Rails 3.2.18

Yes, thanks for pointing me to your config examples - that's what I've been using (though not in a config block give its v. 0.3, right?).

I think I figured out the issue.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like on every update to the monologue entries, a new blog.html file is written.  That file only seems to get written if I update the blog - updating the config file alone doesn't update the blog.html file.  Thus when I entered by disqus username but did not create a new monologue entry,  the javascript footers with the disqus code were not updated.  Once I created a new post, the new blog.html file was written along with the updated javascript disqus code.

Yeah, it might be the cache. There is a section in the admin, I think you can clear the cache from there.
