Hi all,

I am joining this group with a purpose in mind at first, and then for general scanning secondly. I’m new to all this, so be patient with me please. I’m a retired school teacher, having taught school here in Covina California for 33 years. I’m totally blind, and am very active in music here, and do a lot of lecture work.

I have a love of trains and want to listen to the Amtrak frequencies as I travel from LA to Eugene this summer. I’m going up there to give a lecture on jazz and participate in one of the concerts. Anyway, I want a hand held scanner that’s is easily accessible too us as blind people

I would appreciate any ideas help and general stuff you can offer. Thanks in advance. Jim.

Heyya Jim: Thanks so much for joining us. So very glad to have you. Of course. We're very patient on this list so feel free to ask any & all of the questions you'd like. I just wanted to take this opportunity to welcome you to the group. I've gotta run up town very quickly so I'll put together a response to your question & put it in the group by this afternoon. But, very quickly I'd consider the GRE line of scanners. They will not talk to you. However with the PSR Edit Configuration software, they're more than accessible to program using a screen reader.
