Greetings everyone,

is anyone familiar with the AOR AR8200 wideband receiver? If so, can we talk (emails are fine)? I have been contacted by a local ham who wants help programming it and I am totally unfamiliar with it and its software.

I've begun reading the manual and would appreciate any tips you may have.

Ron:
Great to hear from you. I must admit I've never heard of this reciever. Have you looked around on the internet for any information on it? I'll start digging around & see if I can find any information on it. For which bands does it work on? Is it able to be used by those of us who have no vision? A full report would be great.
Hope that everyone on the list had a great holiday season.

Hi Sean,

I’ve never used one but have volunteered to help get one programmed for a local person, if I can figure out how to use it and its software. It covers 580 kHz to more than 2 gHz, all mode. It is a handheld receiver. I was hoping someone had experience with it.

Hmmm, can't say I've even heard of the thing. Have you donloaded the software & played with it with JAWS? If so? How's it work with said screen reader?

Not yet, have been running pretty hard for work and at home. My son and daughter-in-law have moved in with us since October and given birth to our first grandson. My son and his wife have learning disabilities and need a great deal of help taking care of our grandson, so time at home has been limited. I hope to learn more in the next week, or so.

Anything you may happen across about this radio will be appreciated.
