I hope to get to radio shack within the next week to look at their scanners. I have what all of you will consider a stupid question, but I’ll ask it anyway. So, you find a channel you want to listen too, and you hit the hold key on the scanner. So, how do you tell it to scan again, when you want it to do so? Jim

Jim:
Please remember one thing here. There are no stupid questions. You're new to this scanning business. We've all been there. Scanners have a scan button which when pressed will tell the scanner to resume scanning. Most scanners either have a hold or a manual button which when pressed as you said, will stop the scanner on a channel or object which you are listening to. Some even have both a hold & a manual which in theory do the same type of thing. I'd suggest taking a look @ radio shack dot com before you go to get an idea as to what they have so if you have any further questions about the radios. You can ask the group.

Sean, I just took a look at the radio shack web site, and by far, the wouxun radios
sound much better than what they have. So, I'll go up to Google and see if I can
search out more about this radio, and I'd appreciate anything you can tell me about
the radio. Do you have to program any software into it to make it talk, or is that
built in? And what can you get on this radio?
Thanks again Jim.
