0.12 is not released yet.

Hello,

Super new to the rails/ruby scene please be gentle <.<

Trying to mess around with the Rails 4 Beta and MongoMapper when I realized that running bundle install installs mongo_mapper 0.8.6, and when I try to specify 0.12.0 I get the message

Bundler could not find compatible versions for gem "activemodel":
  In Gemfile:
    mongo_mapper (= 0.12.0) ruby depends on
      activemodel (~> 3.0) ruby

rails (= 4.0.0.beta1) ruby depends on
      activemodel (4.0.0.beta1)

I understand what it's telling me, but is there a way to get it to work :(?

Thanks

Ah, yeah, MM has not been tested with ActiveSupport/ActiveModel 4+ at all yet.

Hi John,

What are the plans/timing for supporting Rails 4?

I am not advanced enough to know where to start (i tried the activeresouce gem and the latest code from mm, still no joy with rails4).

But if there is any way I can help, or if you have a suggested course of action I would be happy to experiment.

Hi Jon,

At present, we're working most on getting MongoMapper working on Ruby 2.0.0 since that's been fully released beyond the beta status. Once we get that out I'd imagine we'll turn our sights on Rails 4.

As far as getting things working on Rails 4, I'm not certain what direction we'll be taking. I'm especially curious since there are some syntactical changes that take place between Rails 3 and 4 in ActiveRecord that would cause a divergence between MM and AR (I'm thinking specifically of the dynamic querying plugin). I'm not certain which way the project will go, but John might have more ideas in that direction.

Best,
Joseph
