A conference presentation opportunity with the EIT subnational reporting paper… Note that the CfP dangles possibility of travel/accommodations funding.

Cheers,
Julian Dierkes

I just checked out what I could find about the conference: http://sbeonline.org/?p=7818

Listed as a topic is (among many other topics include corruption, economic development, legislating for integrity) :
  • Disclosing payments to governments: EITI, Publish What You Pay and the efficacy of transparency initiatives
I think this would be a really interesting conference! Is anyone else interested in presenting? I didn't go to Mongolia so I am not familiar with the presentations - would they suitable for this? The findings and outcomes from the EITI country scan would likely be great for this conference.

Also, did we submit an abstract for the SDIMI conference? Can we re-use it for this conference with some small tweaks?

I think this sounds like an exciting conference! Just from reading the description and the Call For Papers, I definitely think our research is relevant (especially the presentation/paper).

Might need more tweaking since the Call For Papers is asking for abstracts of presentation proposals (1-4 pages in length). But very feasible given we have an abstract and a paper ready to go! Definitely interested if there are a few of us that want to give it a shot.

Cheers,
Justin

Hey gang,

I am back in Vancouver for approximately two weeks because of the Mitacs award, which requires that I am in Canada to receive it.  I will be around but very tired during the first week.  The presentations can be shared and practice.  It doesn't matter if you were not in Mongolia Steph!

I am happy to participate!

Sending joy!

I am happy to head the submission of the abstract as the deadline is coming up in 2 weeks. We can always decide later who actually wants to present/attend the conference.

Bulgan - you sent an e-mail May 19th regarding the final abstract for SDIMI. Do you have a copy of it/know where it is located? I'll work that abstract along with the executive summary from our final paper. I will pass it around for edits before I submit.

What does everyone think?

Hi Everyone

I am not sure who is in town during SDIMI -- I am speaking at the conference on another topic, so will be attending.  If I can support the group in some way, just let me know.

Best regards,

Jocelyn

Dear all,

I apologize I thought this was for the November conference in Toronto. I am not able to be the presenter for this conference, as I am on my way to China.

Sorry for the confusion.

Hi all,

I am not sure if there are others presenting. But I will be presenting at the SDIMI on other topic and I would be happy to be involved in the EITI presentation as well.

Kind regards,
Bulgan
