Hi All,

We have been accepted (tentatively) to the Educating for Integrity conference. We need to submit a draft of the report by September 15th. It seems the coordinator is happy with the subject matter but would like us to focus more generally rather than on Mongolia specifically - see below. I don't think that should be a problem.

He also confirmed there is no issue with submitting to the Mongolia Journal.

I am happy to work on editing the paper prior to submission and will send around for review. Let me know if anyone has any questions/comments.

Thanks!
Stephanie

Hello Stephanie,

My apologies for this tardy response to your abstract submission. As it turns out, it did not make it into my abstract file, in part because you sent it to Bronwyn Best and not to me.

First, in response to your query below, I am not quite sure what a PPT is. Whatever it is, I have no problem with your moving ahead with the Mongolia journal. For my purposes it would become something to address in the event that the submissions for the conference move to a publication stage.

With respect to your abstract for the conference, I am prepared to accept it for purposes of moving to the next step. What I now need is a draft of the paper on which your presentation will be based and an outline of the presentation by September 15. The outline of your presentation for a parallel session should be based on the assumption that you will have 20 minutes for your presentation.

If the quality of papers is promising, my intention is to edit a special issue of a journal. Your paper will certainly be considered for that volume.

Here is the relevant section of the Call for Submissions for your information. You will also find information about the program, the conference schedule and other details on the conference website:
www.cbern.ca/integrity/

Submission deadlines

July 1: Deadline for abstracts of presentation proposals (one to four pages in length)
Those submitting abstracts of proposed conference presentations will be notified of provisional acceptance for conference presentation by August 1, 2015

          September 15:
Submission date for a complete draft of proposed conference presentation
Note: Presentations will be posted on the conference website prior to the conference for reference and preconference discussion and dialogue by conference registrants.

I have a couple of comments on what you are proposing. Your topic is certainly timely. What I would like to see is a more explicit connection to the conference theme. I think implicit in your research is the need to prepare users to work with a sub national reporting framework. It would be important to explore that theme. I would like to see you generalize from your focus on Mongolia as you propose to do.

Again my apologies for not getting back sooner and many thanks for the email drawing my attention to your submission which I have just now received from Bronwyn Best in response to my request that she forward it to me again.

I look forward to receiving a developed version of your paper and proposed presentation.

Best regards

wes cragg

Hello Wes,

I'm wondering if there is any update regarding my abstract submission to the Educating for Integrity Conference? The Mining Journal of Mongolia is requesting to publish our PPT in their magazine, and I was wondering if this would be an issue if I was selected to present at the conference? Myself and another team member would likely utilize a version of this PPT for the Educating for Integrity Conference.

Thank you,
Stephanie

    Dear Ms, Bronwyn Best,

I am interested in submitting an abstract for consideration for the Educating for Integrity conference. Do I submit the abstract to you? If so, it is attached. Otherwise, can you please let me know who I should send the abstract to?

    Thank you,

Hi All,

As per the e-mail below, I have to submit an edited paper/PPT to the educating for integrity conference by Sept. 15th. I don't anticipate this taking very long but I'm wondering if anyone else is interested in helping and/or actually presenting in Toronto in November. I"m going to be in Ottawa anyways for a wedding so it's no problem to present. I'm free Monday/Tuesday afternoon next week to piece this together with anyone interested.

As discussed below, I have been asked to frame the paper and presentation to be more general and remove the Mongolia focus. Does anyone object to this? Please let me know ASAP if anyone has any issues...

Also, can someone please send me a copy of the presentation used previously?
