Altering collection

Hi,

is there option to turn off altering all entries in collection with
helper params (fromHash, fromPoint, distance) after using geo_near
method?
Or is it really necessary for geo_near to calculate results from that?

Yeah, I guess it would make sense to have this as an option. Not
required in every use case for sure!
In any case, this gem needs a loving hand to get it up to speed and
working.
I suggest that you look at 'mongoid_spatial' (@ryanong) and either use
that gem instead, or port some of the nice solutions from there into
this gem ;)
