if i remove sharding server when the server is all right, does it break down all data?

when i operate 3 mongod(a server,b server,c server) and 1 config
server and 1 mongos, suddenly i tun off the b server.
is it run all right? i mean is it guarantee reliable status when other
server is break down?

what is b?
are those 3 independent mongod nodes or is it a replica set?
