Hi Team,

To share a quick context, Mongo DB is used as the database to persist information for the application. We use a tool called Pentaho which makes connection to the Mongo DB to extract data and generates few reports for the business. As the data in the application has grown up, we are reaching 16MB size on Mongo due to which the query operation fails and hence the reports fails.

Please let us know if you have encountered a similar issue in any of your past and have some workaround already identified for it.

Logs attached for reference.

Regards

Narayan

Hi Narayan,

It's been a while since you posted this question. Were you able to find a solution?

If not, what version of Pentaho are you using? This looks similar to a problem which was apparently resolved in the Pentaho 8.1.0 GA release: https://jira.pentaho.com/browse/PDI-16450.

The 16MB result size limit for aggregation only applies to versions of MongoDB prior to 3.6 where there was an option to return an inline aggregation result. In MongoDB 3.6+ servers, the aggregate command will either return a cursor or store results in a collection.

Stennie

Hello  Stennie,

The issue got resolved after upgrading the pentaho version. Appreciate the recommendation. Now we have got 100 MB(which was restricted to 16MB earlier) after the upgrade to play around.

Narayan
