Compass will not start: A JavaScript error occurred in the main process

I am trying to use the community edition of Compass (running on Linux Ubuntu 16.04), but (nearly) always when I start the app, I get an error message: A JavaScript error occurred in the main process. Only after rebooting the PC can I start Compass again (only once however; using it again will produce the error)

Hi,

I believe you’re seeing the effect of COMPASS-3156 which was fixed in Compass 1.16.1. If your Compass is older than 1.16.1, could you please upgrade and see if the error persists?
