I just recently started using the mongo Erlang driver. Unless I'm
missing it, there doesn't seem to be support for Erlang records, i.e.
inserting, searching, etc Erlang records. This seems like such a
natural thing to support, I wondering if there is any thought of
adding it. Anyone know? Or, are there good reasons not to support
this?

I did notice that one of the community supported Erlang drivers does
support records, but I hesitate to use that driver, preferring the one
that seems officially supported by MongoDb. Does anyone have relevant
opinions regarding the community supported Erlang drivers?

Many thanks!

My mongrel mapper library may be what you're looking for when it's
finished. http://code.google.com/p/mongrel/

I expect it to be usable around April 2012, i.e. to support all the
CRUD operations. At the moment it supports only inserts.

MongrelMapper is fully functional. It can be downloaded from
http://code.google.com/p/mongrel/

The API documentation is available at
http://mongrelmapper.appspot.com/api/index.html

Hi Carl,

Thanks for sharing this!  I've added it to our documentation here, in the Erlang Language Center: http://www.mongodb.org/display/DOCS/Erlang+Language+Center
