"mongod.exe Entry point not found"

Hi there,

I just downloaded v2.2.0 (mongodb-win32-i386-2.2.0.zip) for Windows 32bit and getting an error while trying to start it.

Please see attached screen.

Windows XP support was dropped for version 2.2, specifically because of the missing function noted in the error message you saw.  We upgraded our atomic counters to 64-bits, but this (required) function was only added in Windows Server 2003.  The 2.0 series (currently at 2.0.7) continues to support Windows XP.

The release notes mention the removal of support for Windows XP in version 2.2: http://docs.mongodb.org/manual/release-notes/2.2/#windows-xp-is-not-supported
