mongoimport: command not found

I am in mongodb-osx-x86_64-2.4.9/bin directory (on iMac) and give a command
$ mongoimport --help
-bash: mongoimport: command not found

I see mongoimport exe in bin directory along with mongo, mongod, etc. I can make a connection and other things work fine.
Can anyone suggest a solution?

./mongoimport --help

Current directory is not in execution path so you must use ./

Thanks Tim. Got it.
I am on a common machine and looks like I have to set path for my own session every time.  I am learning.
