Hi everyone,

Currently my log file sits at 778MB. The log file is too big.

I found some information about the topic.

Right now i use

"D:\mongoDB\bin\mongod" --logpath "d:\mongoDB\log\log" --logappend
--dbpath "d:\data" --directoryperdb --service

to start my mongodb as windows service.

Maybe i should use

"D:\mongoDB\bin\mongod" --quiet --logpath "d:\mongoDB\log\log" --
logappend --dbpath "d:\data" --directoryperdb --service

to start the mongodb.

Is it right??

Because i installed mongodb on the windows server, i can not use
db.runCommand("logRotate").

http://www.mongodb.org/display/DOCS/Logging

Is it possible that the log file is splitted as it grows automaticly?
what option should i set?

There is no option for that. On windows that command will need to be
implemented for what you want. There is an open issue you can
vote/watch here: http://jira.mongodb.org/browse/SERVER-2612

I would think you could rotate the log on a regular basis and then
archive or delete the old log file.
