Hi,

I have a use case where I need to split my database into multiple databases. (or shards) (please note requirement is to split collections)

can I use mongos as a layer in between?

background:
splitting collections because
1. there are certain collections which are temporary in nature and have a lot of writes and deletes
2. some collections with arrays and metadata which have frequent updates
3. transactional data updates/reads

It's not clear to me what you asking.  Are you asking now to do the split or whether after splitting you can have the same mongos interface with all the databases!

(the answer to the second question is yes)
