hello,

I have a server in the digital ocean, with 2gb ram and 2 cores. In it works apache, php and mongodb. When entering data in mongo, the mongod is using 100% of one of the nuclei, and nothing else. I wonder if this is common, it influences the performance (I think so) and how can I solve this problem.

thank you!

Hi Tiago,

Without knowing what kind of operations you are performing I cannot say for certain. Normally MongoDB does not consume a large amount of CPU, but there are some operations which can cause a spike in CPU.

What kind of operations is your MongoDB instance performing when you see the CPU spike? And how many operations? Which domain of the CPU are you seeing the spike in? User? System? IO?

Regards,
David
