wrong Nightly Development Release

The root folder of the nightly development release at
http://downloads.mongodb.org/linux/mongodb-linux-x86_64-latest.tgz is
named "mongodb-linux-x86_64-2011-11-05". Does it mean that this
"nightly" build is over 2 months old? If so, can this be updated
please?

Are you sure you downloaded the right one from http://www.mongodb.org/downloads?

That's the 2.0 version though? I just tried, going to http://www.mongodb.org/downloads selecting Development Release (Unstable) Nightly, Linux 64-bit, which redirects to http://www.mongodb.org/dr/downloads.mongodb.org/linux/mongodb-linux-x86_64-latest.tgz/download and that is a tgz with root folder dated 5 Nov 2011. Had the same thing a few weeks ago but figured there were some problems with the build, so compiled it myself.

Yes, but as Ilmar stated out that's the 2.0.2-Nightly Production
Realease. I was interested in a patch of 2012-01-18. This is obviously
not yet contained in the Nightly Production Realease "mongodb-linux-
x86_64-v2.0-2012-01-17". Hence, I tried to download the Nightly
Development Release (Unstable). But this is even older (5 Nov 2011).

My last attempt to get the latest version was to clone the git repo.
Scons was able to compile and build all mongo tools (mongoperf,
mongosniffer, etc.) but it failed to build mongod and mongos. So I
changed from master to v2.0.3-rc2 and could build mongoDB completely.
However v2.0.3-rc2 did not yet contain the patch I was interested in.
How could you compile and build the master? It seems that mongo
sources were moved (I compared the folder structure of master with
v2.0.3-rc2) and scons could'nt find them.

I made a typo: instaed of v2.0.3-rc2 I meant r2.0.2-rc2
This is the latest tag that I've checked out and compiled.

In case you haven't already got a sufficiently recent build, you
should be able to download a recent nightly, or version 2.1.0.
