Hi Viki,

Cloud manager is a managed cloud service (Software As A Service) hosted by MongoDB, where you will only need to install agents for monitoring, automation or backup in your infrastructure.

Ops Manager is an on premise software and you have to install and manage all services on your infrastructure.

They both offer MongoDB cluster monitoring, automation, and backup solution.

The main difference between the two is that with Ops Manager the management application is deployed on-premise, while with Cloud Manager it’s MongoDB cloud hosted. A MongoDB Account Executive should be able to provide more information depending on your use case and requirements.

For more information see:

Yes, Ops Manager backup supports incremental/scheduled snapshot backups, allowing point-in-time recovery and configuration snapshot retention.

For more details see Ops Manager backup and how to configure schedule (incremental) based snapshot backups.

Regards,

Lian
