Hi

I am new to Mongodb and I want to download some sample database as we have for SQL(temp/Northwind) to statr working on it.
I have gone through some of the blogs and suggested to run some shell scripting. Can you please help me to understand how do I get ready sample database or can make me understand by describing from step 1.

I am using Windows 7 OS, MongoVUE client.

Thanks in advance

You could generate all kinds of data here, if you want to. There are different ways to import it through the different file formats. I even think MongoVUE offers a MySQL import.

Or you can download some pretty good sample data from data.gov. I find it very interesting! You just download the format you prefer and mongoimport it.

Here's one small sample database you may consider too.   Time To Crime Rates For Firearms With A Recovery (US Department of Justice)

Please also be aware, when you load this kind of data, it isn't necessarily in a schema you'd be using to use Mongodb properly.
