Please check out the price calculated for 80GB storage 16gb RAM for 3 node replica set in atlas vs documentdb

The below price comparison given in mongodb official site doesn't make sense to me

you can see the calculations i have done in AWS pricingcalculator and in mongodb atlas pricing calculator in the attached snapshots

which is cheaper DOCUMENTDB or MONGODB ?

I see that document DB doesn't charge for backups and data transfer between replicas but Mongodb atlas charges 0.01/GB for same region and 0.02/GB for diff region even for data transfer between replica nodes

You should note that the prices quoted in the article you linked were calculated in January 2019, so that might explain why they do not agree with the numbers in your screenshots (which were presumably taken today). I'll defer to someone on the Atlas team to follow up on your other questions.

Lastly, I saw that you forwarded your post to the mongodb-dev group as well. There should be no need to cross-post, especially from mongodb-user to mongodb-dev, as the mongodb-user group has a wider audience. The mongodb-dev list is also intended to be used for discussions pertaining to development of the database. Questions such as this are better suited to the mongodb-user group.
