Mongodb Atlas to Tableau

I am trying to connect my Mongodb Atlas cluster to Tableau using the BI connector that mongodb supplies. I am trying to run the command line command to generate the drdl file with the schema but I cannot connect to the Atlas db. I dont think I got the host name correct but I have no idea where to find the host name. I was using the provided connection string when hitting the connect button in the Atlas gui. Since my atlas cluster is hosted on AWS I dont think thats the host it is looking for. Does anyone know where I can find the host address that my Atlas clusters on AWS has? Is this even possible or do I just have to import all of my data to my local machine and import to tableau that way?

Hi Ahmed,

There are two ways of using MongoDB Connector tool for BI with MongoDB Atlas. You can either download MongoDB BI connector manually from MongoDB download center and manually set up mongosqld, or if you have MongoDB Atlas M10+ instances you can just enable MongoDB Atlas BI Connector.

Please note that MongoDB BI Connector (manual setup) is part of the MongoDB Enterprise Advanced edition, which is a commercially supported product. If your company already has a commercial subscription and you have further questions, you should open a private case in the MongoDB Commercial Support Portal.
