Journal Recovery Corruption (MongoDB 2.2.2)

This has happened twice already, but after a server reboot, it looks like MongoDB recovers from a journal file, but somehow corrupts the database in the process.  After the recovery, all reads/writes to the database fail with Invalid BSONObj size errors.
