I am going to take a shot at what the issue is.

Robomongo is an administrative tool. It is like a GUI for the Mongo shell. If you create a javascript function in Robomongo, it is only good for use IN Robomongo or possibly in the Mongo shell itself. 

If you want to use MongoDB with PHP, you need to install the MongoDB PHP driver and make calls to Mongo through the driver.
