MongoDB installation for Windows 7 (64 bit)

Hi there,

I am using Windows 7 ultimate version (64 bit). I want to install MongoDB directly on Windows and try the database.

I would like to exactly know 

a) what installer version of MongoDB should be used here? 

b) Where can I find this version?

I tried in the page https://www.mongodb.org/downloads

a) Chose Windows

b) Picked up the version Windows 64 bit 2008 R2+ from the dropdown

c) Installed the file (.msi)

Unzipped the installer file and tried clicking mongod.exe from the path /server/3.1/bin and it is throwing an error

First of all, am I downloading the correct file for Windows 7 (64 bit) and how can I progress from here?

Can someone pl. guide me here?

It would really help if you'd read the installation instructions on the same page you downloaded mongodb from. They explain everything you have to do in detail.
