Hello there,

I've just installed MongoDB 2.6 under Windows 8, starting the server without problem but I have a problem using the mongo shell.
When I start the mongo shell I've got no prompt displayed but the mongo shell is well connected to server and answer any command :

$ mongo localhost:27017/mean-dev
MongoDB shell version: 2.6.0
connecting to
: localhost:27017/mean-dev

--- There is no prompt displayed here but the following command answer correctly ---
show collections
articles
sessions
system
.indexes
users

I suspect something wrong with my windows configuration but I can figure out what is wrong.
I'm using the MobaXterm terminal window to issue the mongo shell. Note that when using the "cmd" command line prompt the prompt is present.

Any help would be appreciated.

JM.

Interesting...

Is it the case that you can't see what you are typing in the shell either?

Yes. I finally find the problem : the mongo shell does not work with CYGWIN. Using the shell with Windows cmd or cmder (with bash) is alright.
