Is there any way to reset the admin password?

We changed the password of admin last month and now fail to login
again. Seems that we typed a wrong one last time.
Is there any method to reset the admin password?

You can always shutdown and remove the admin db files.

And what about in v.2.4.8?
In a sharded cluster, all I see are local.ns, mongod.lock and local.{number}.

In sharded cluster the admin database is stored on the config server(s).
