Spurred on by your question, I looked into this. I didn't know there was a JDBC driver for MongoDB and figured when I saw threads about it that the authors didn't realize that MongoDB's Java driver had nothing to do with JDBC or were just being lazy-mouthed. I was surprised when I finally looked closer.

I still haven't established a working connection, but in the mean time, I did get SQuirreL to accept my creation of a MongoDB JDBC driver. Here's what I get:

In order to get the Example URL, I looked at http://sourceforge.net/p/mongojdbcdriver/code/HEAD/tree/trunk/src/main/java/net/sf/mongodb_jdbc_driver/MongoDbDriver.java. In order to get the Class Name, I looked at http://sourceforge.net/p/mongojdbcdriver/code/HEAD/tree/trunk/src/test/java/net/sf/mongodb_jdbc_driver/MongoJdbcDriverExternalTest.java.

My private MongoDB doesn't need authentication (username and password). I don't know if my failure to set those is interfering with the JDBC driver making a connection. I'll post anything I learn.

I don't know if what I'm telling you here will help at all. If you learn something, please post your conclusions as they may help others (like me).

Merely a stupid mistake. I don't need a username/password (since none exist anyway). I'm seeing stuff in SQuirreL now. How lovely. Hope some of what I said last time was helpful to someone else.
