I use immutable value types pretty heavily in my code, and ideally I would like to control the serilization of a type such as lets say EmailAddress to be the standard string representation of an emailAdress ("1...@abc.com").

Is this possible, when i try to implement BsonSerilizer I get an error stating only an object or array is allowed to be the root.

Thanks in advance
