Hi
I am very new to Mongo and have been asked to look into some potions for monitoring some in house mongo dbs.
We are a big Oracle site and use Oracle's OEM for our database monitoring, I see there is a plugin available for Mongo - does anyone have any experience of this, or can someone offer some pointers to other monitoring products to get me started ?

Thanks Robin

Hi Robin,

There are multiple options for monitoring MongoDB instances and a number of the options are outlined in the documentation in Monitoring for MongoDB.

The on-premises option similar to Oracle’s OEM is MongoDB’s Ops Manager. The Ops Manager software utilises an Agent running on the nodes which provides real-time reporting, visualisation, and alerting on key database and hardware indicators.

However, please note that Ops Manager is an Enterprise feature, which requires a MongoDB Enterprise Advanced subscription.

Best regards,
Matt

Hi Robin,

If you are looking for a monitoring tool for the MongoDB community version, check gudab. This is a freeware tool that offers customized dashboard, indicator watch, auto cluster detection, and alert functions. Maybe just what you need to get started and to make MongoDB management easier.

Best regards,
Lea

Hi Robin,
You can use Percona monitoring and management for Point-in-time visibility and historical trending of database performance. This tool is build on Prometheus and Grafana so we can also use Inbuilt Grafana alerting feature to create flexible alert settings. And we can also use Nagios for alerting system.
