Advisory: MongoDB documentation will be forked in the next week (14-22 February 2013)

We expect to "fork" the MongoDB manual some time in the next week, creating a 2.2 maintenance branch from the current "manual" or master branch.

This should not affect the Smartling translation system because it operates on word phrases which should only need to be translated once and will appear in translation anywhere else in the documentation (anywhere that the phrases match).

But it may mean that you will see what appears to be the same page in translation with two URLs (the current docs.mongodb.org/manual/ URL and a new docs.mongodb.org/v2.2/ URL).

We have not finalized the 2.2 URL structure but it will likely be either http://docs.mongodb.org/2.2 or http://docs.mongodb.org/v2.2

Please let us know of any problems either here or in the DOCS project at http://jira.mongodb.org/.
