Hi Ed,
I'm afraid that this is a problem. As I have observed before to version 2.4, at the release of 2.4 and on v2.2 directory, and now with version 2.4.1. Smartling was asking me for a new translation for each new released version.

The version/release strings should not be a problem at all with Smartling. Smartling translates phrases and keeps a library of translated phrases. At worst I or someone else from 10gen will need to check off that the "new" pages under /v2.2 (and eventually v2.4) need to be translated but once we check that off the existing phrase library should be used to translate most if not all of the content.
We expect the rate of change for both the current and previous versions of the docs to slow down now that we have completed the wiki migration and the 2.4 release.

Hi Everyone,I just wanted to ask if anyone has noticed that the titles for all pages in the MongoDB manual now include the version of minor releases. Currently, it's 2.4.1, but according to this thread, https://groups.google.com/d/msg/mongodb-user/vZFr2G93FpM/SFPz4sd_g_MJ, the release for 2.4.2 is due next week. The Spanish Translation team is wondering if this could be a potential problem, with minor releases overwriting our translations more frequently. This means that potentially hundreds of phrases could be 'lost' more frequently than one would deem optimal. We were wondering if we could get around this issue by perhaps excluding the version number for minor releases and only include the '2.4' (and '2.2' to keep consistency). That way, titles would only have to be retranslated every major release. Another option, would be to exclude the version number completely, that way only titles for new pages have to be translated with every release. We urge you to consider these alternatives in order to help us avoid this problem. Many thanks,Juan-Carlos (and the Spanish Translation Team)--
