I hope not!  It's a great project that I find really useful.  I'm asking because I've had pull requests waiting for months, and I know others have as well.

If the maintainers are too busy, would you consider making some more people admins to get the project into a healthier state?  The alternative is to fork and republish under a different package name, but I don't think that kind of fragmentation is helpful if it can be avoided.

Hi Luke,

thank you for your question.
As you saw, we don’t have enough capacity here to handle this project as it should be.
But as you said, it would be a shame to abandon the project.

We are currently looking for new admins to keep mongojack alive and hope we will find soon.
We will get back to you soon.

Cheers,
bastien

Hello,
I agree, it's a great project, and I've used it for POCing a product I'm developing, but considering the risk you are raising I wanted to ask what alternatives you'd recommend for Java, and possibly for Scala (if you're familiar). Of course, once I see you're back on track with mongojack, I'd be happy to be a user.

Thanks,

Adi, I don't think you need to worry. Because this is open source and reasonably popular it's not going to go away. The guts are Jackson which is very popular and is as healthy piece of software.

It's possible someone (such as me) may need to fork and re-publish to get development moving. That's not ideal but will probably happen if the current admins aren't able to spend time on this soon-ish.

So I'd go ahead and use it!
