Fellow Toastmasters

We had another exciting day today. Below is the recap of today's session:

Theme: Valentine Day

Rekha, our TM for today did a great job considering that she was a rookie. Well done! Ironically Feb 14 is our next session and we should not be surprised if our next TM also "falls in love" with the same theme as today!

We only had one speaker today. So what, we had our BEST speaker and that is what matters. Amazing speech gripping the audience all along and not a single yawn in the room! As if that was not enough we got icing on the cake when Bill Brown, our Area Governor did his evaluation. All ears shot up and curious to know how a master evaluator will evaluate a master speaker. Of course, I did not want to lose this unique situation and so recorded both of them (will send that in a separate email)

We had Cory as our guest and hopefully he will join us

We also voted in David and Peter. Thanks Tung for filling in for George our Segeant at Arms.

Thanks to all the helpers for their part.

Last, but not the least, thanks to Byron for volunteering as our Chairman for the contest on Feb 21st. We just have one speaker so far. If we do not have more than one speaker than we will conduct the Table Topic contest as well. If you want to be part of either/both please get in touch with Byron our Chairman for the contest.

Thanks everyone and see you on Feb 14th.

Regards

Yes, not only did we learn from Gary about speech preparation, we learned from Bill that there is always room for improvement. :-)

In regards to the new members, I do need a volunteer mentor for each of them. The "mentor" will be the one to show the ropes regarding the Toastmasters program, and how we do things in Money Talks.

If you have delivered 3 or more speeches, then you can be a mentor!

Please let me know if you are willing to serve as mentor to either Peter or David.

Thanks,
Rosie

Maybe we should just consider assigning mentors rather than asking. I consider this as part of Toastmasters anyways. We assign helpers for every session than why not assign mentors for new comers? This should not be taxing and it is reasonable to help others when you got help in the first place!

Just my 2 cents.

May I be the mentor for one of them ? I've realized it is very important to have a mentor. They can make a big difference in one's development.

Mahesh,
Can you please put me down for speaker role in the next few weeks?
I'm looking forward to completing CC speeches #4 & #5.

Thanks,
Byron
