I have an Insignia Bluetooth 4.0 USB Adapter for my PC. Instructions say that when it is plugged in, Windows should automatically download the correct driver, however nothing happened. I read reviews online about going into Windows Update > Optional Updates > Driver Updates and activating Broadcom Bluetooth driver there, but I don't have an option for Broadcom Bluetooth in this window. I have tried several different USB ports on my pc but all just have the same issue. I see my PC detects the adapter in Settings > Devices > Other Devices, but it says driver is unavailable.

1. it is almost sure that the windows driver loads some kind of firmware/ROM fix into the adapter. Why? Because after using the adapter in windows it also works under linux. Unfortunately only until the next reboot.

I've seen the capture file and I agree, that there is definitely some firmware upload going on endpoint 02 starting at frame 62 and maybe initiated by a vendor specific HCI command 0xfc2e in frame 58. The data even do partialy match the content of the .hex file I extracted off the Fujitsu driver package. I will take a closer look at the capture later today. Don't give up yet ;-)
But I strongly doubt, that you'll get past the ./bcmfwup.py. I still didn't get any of the bcm20702 based adapters, so I actually never ran the script.
btw, I have already started writing a driver module. When I'm done, I will need someone capable of building a custom, patched kernel for testing.

how would i go about checking this? i do have lts installed so i could swap too that and see if that helps. i did try using the other mentioned driver and i couldnt get a connection established, the card was down. so WL seems to be the working driver, just unstable?
after switching broadcom-wl-dkms for the non dkms it appears the problem is solved, sat here for 20 minutes watching journals while a game downloaded and saw zero dips or stops. nothing in logs either.. gonna put as solved for now. hopefully i dont make a third post regarding the issue
