She has worked as a Reference and Instruction Librarian at Valencia College in Orlando, FL, as a Library Consultant for Morningside Academy in Port Saint Lucie, FL, and as a Technical Services Assistant at Barry University, Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law in Orlando, FL. Melissa's leadership, expertise, and dedication to the library profession make her an excellent choice for Executive Director, and we are excited to see the direction she will lead us.
As electric vehicles (EVs) and microgrids each grow in market share, their paths are intertwining, offering a vision of how together they will change power delivery. An example is a pilot project for a California library announced this week by Schneider Electric and several partners.
With $3.2 million in funding from the California Energy Commission, the project will demonstrate the value of bidirectional electric vehicle charging to make what project partners call a vehicle-to-building (V2B) resilience hub at the library.
The OMICRON Test Universe software technology including the OMICRON Control Center, XRIO, and LinkToXRIO enables users to create specific test templates which adapt automatically to the actual relay settings. This functionality is the technological basis of the Protection Testing Library (PTL), a comprehensive test template library for a wide range of protection relays. In addition, test templates for the OMICRON RelaySimTest software complement specific applications inside the PTL. Using the PTL allows considerable time savings as test plans and nominal characteristics do not have to be created from scratch.
The PTL test templates are developed by OMICRON experts and external specialists. The content of the library is continuously extended and maintained. Therefore users of the PTL can also benefit from the extensive application knowledge included in the test templates. The PTL test templates are customizable for specific needs and the XRIO converters can be used in user-created test plans as well as single tests.
In 2006, Karen worked with the project architect to design the new library in the Sant Building. In 2018, she provided crucial assistance in receiving a transformative grant from the IMLS Museums for America Collections Stewardship program to establish an archival digitization program at the Phillips that has allowed us to begin digitizing items of priority for archival research.
Linda-Jean Schneider is Morgan Lewis's manager of electronic resources. Ms. Schneider works with the firm director of library, research, and competitive intelligence services and firm-wide staff to ensure the efficient operation of the department's online resources, the library portal, and the integrated library system. She coordinates with IT staff on the implementation of new projects in the area of electronic resource management, and with various practice groups on their knowledge management initiatives.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Ms. Schneider held positions in library and legal research administration at two other Philadelphia-based law firms. Her responsibilities involved firm-wide management of research resources, including the development of a research module curriculum for an associate development training program, implementation of portal access to library and practice group-specific resources, and extensive analysis of online usage and metrics to identify the most cost-effective research services.
