im am a medical doctor by profession who hasnnt pursued post graduation yet. ive recently started wathchin ur videos n rediscovered my way 2 islam.i wanted 2 ask u sir, whether or not should i go for further studies even if it involves compromising my salah times n staying out late without a mahram.i am not married yet and fear that my future life partner would force me to work against my wishes.sir, i am a dawoodi bohra by caste and in our community being "too religious" (so they say) isnt cool. sir, please guide me coz i really am confused at this junctire in my life.

It is crazy to see people the way they behave. They do not celebrate our Prophet's(sawaws) or any of our Imam's(a.s.) birthdays with so much pomp and fervour as they do of the dai's. They dont want to admit it but unfortunately they believe in the demi-god more than the Ahle bait(a.s.),Nauzobillah.

We Bohras believe that our 21st Imam Taiyeb Abu Qasim went into occultation. Unlike 12ers who believe that their Imam mahdi will himself come out of seclusion, we believe an Imam of that time who is of Imam Taiyeb's progeny will. Our sources of hadith include books like Daim al islam, etc. Dai al Mutlaq is an unrestricted missionary appointed by the Imam who leads the community on his behalf and spreads his messages. Yes we consider all the Imams maasoom.

Yes. Honestly, I don't think it is their fault for their lack of knowledge. The information pertaining to their belief is not freely or readily available. The blame would probably go higher up the chain of authority. You can probably imagine what will happen to us if they started closing the schools in Najaf or Qum. :squeez:

See here is where we differs. I don't think we should start our dialogues with who is being lead astray. We (Shia Ithna Asharis) think we are on the right path, but according to them (the Ismailis) we are following the wrong 7th Imam.

I still remember the time when I was reading the Ismaili book. I came across the chapter on their 7th Imam Ismail Ibn Imam Jaffar Sadiq (as). The author presented some very compelling evidence to defend their position. But if you read the book by Allama Tabatabii, he also presented some very compelling argument on why our position following the seventh Imam Musa Al Kadhim is more sounder (technically correct).

My point is, we sort of need to have more technical (theological) information about their belief in order to have some form of meaningful dialogues. At the same time, they too need to be quite aware of their belief and is willing to speak to us about it.

In court of Mughal King Akbar at the venue of 'Ibadat Khana' in Fatehpur Sikri - in the debate all Sunni's and Ithna Asheri scholars were defeated by the Bohra Dai. Emperor Akbar offered Bohra Dai to join his court, but latter politely didn't accept. The Royal Decree issued by Emperor Akbar in favour of Bohra Dai was written with Gold Ink, and such honour was bestowed to NONE of the religion leaders of Sunni's and Ithna Asheri!!! [Reference from book: 'Aqd Al Jawahir Fi Ahwaal Al Bawahir' by Sunni historian Molana Sayyed Abu Zafar Nadwi sahib].

ok brother appreciated. when i get home tonight ill scan the relevant parts of the book for you as well, i would like to see proofs that nass went to hazrat ismail....the akhbar are very clear and unanimous it went to imam musa kazim (as), what can you use to refute them?

brother in the book "kitaab ul irshad" by sheikh mufeed, he lists according to some of the best and reliable hadiths available why the nass went to imam musa kazim (as), not hazrat ismail (who imam jafar sadiq (as) loved dearly), why do ismailis reject these solid hadiths? and on what grounds?

Abbasi Caliph was severly and righly afraid from Fatimi Imam's so he did propoganda to divide Shia's. Inspired by Zayedi's (now mostly in Yemen) Abbsi's lured Hz. Musa Kazim to claim for Imamat after Imam Sadik death. All books of Ithna Asheri says that Imam Sadik has appointed Imam Ismail a.s. as his successor. Abbasi Caliphs were successful in creating a new sect with name "Ithna Asheri". they asked Bukhari to forge another tradition so to make Hz. Musa Kazim as lagitimate successor. His idea was, beause Imam cannot do any errors and in time ahead when serious and intelligent scholar will study wrong committed by Ithna Asheri Imam's they will reject entire Shia school as false.

Ithna Asheri claims that 'Kafi' is collected only from Shia Narrators. But, anyone will be shocked to note: names of narrators are on the name of enemies of Imam Hussain a.s. and Mola Ali a.s. example) Yazeed, Muawiya, Yaqoob ibn Muawiya, Marwan, Waleed, etc. The episode of Karbala took place 200 years before collecting 'kafi', so, what type of Shia's were those narrators who keep their names after names of enemies of Imam Hussain a.s. and Mola Ali a.s.!!!!

So, Bukhari, Muslim and Ithna Asheri Sect (including Kulayini work) were tools (to forge hadees and divide Shias) of Abbasi Caliphs to protect their hukumat from rebel and cover their anti-Islamic acts.

Show us a single hadith that testifies to this. Or, I'll save you the trouble: there are none. Rather we see the nass went to his son, Imam Musa al-Kazhim (as). Which of the many companions of Imam Sadiq (as) believed in the imamate of Isma`il? Out of the many prominent names we find amongst his disciples, which of them upheld this view? Zurara, Muhammad b. Muslim, Aban b. Taghlib, Abu Basir al-Muradi, Hisham b. Salim, Hisham b. al-Hakam, `Abdullah b. Sinan, Mu`awiya b. `Ammar, and so forth. Who can you point to any of such companions that believed this? Rather, the ones we see upholding such a proto-Isma`ili view were the mal`un Khattabi sect.

In other words, you're not allowed to read about your religion except for the very basic level stuff that the da`i might allow you (if that). This is typical of the Bohris, where only the ruling members of the da`wa, largely composed of the da`i's own family, are allowed to read about your religion and its teachings, keeping not only us outsiders away from it, but even most of the Bohris themselves who remain in a state of forced ignorance about their deen. Does this sound like Islam to you?

Who is the current Da'i of the time according to you? Why have the Bohras off-shooted into many different sects like The dawoodis, Alawis, Sulaymanis? Which one/dai is the correct one to follow? Assuming there is one..how do we come to know this?

Qadi al-nu'man was non shia but appreciated the Imamat of Fatimid Imam and were counted as renown personality by Fatimid Imams. Daim ul Islam is based on various principles followed by Fatimid Imams.

Current Imam as per Taiyabi Ismaili Bohra is from progeny of Imam Tayyib (21st Imam appointed by 20th Imam Amir and got secluded himself) and is believed to be present on earth and he will come out one day similar to belief of Ithna ashree for their 12th Imam Mehdi.

At the time of seclusion of Imam Tayyib, he was a child. His father Imam Amir had illusion that he (Amir) may be martyred and instructed Yemeni Sayyida Hurra to appoint independent Dai ( Dai-ai-Mutlaq) to run the responsibility of Imamat as his representative independent of caliphate of the day.

Dai-al- Mutlaq is maintaining the responsibility till date and doing nass one after another . The current dai is Mufaddal Saifuddin. Correctness is judged on your belief and that is called Iman. One dai cannot die till he appoint another Dai. Yezid can not kill Imam Zainul Abedin. Similarly there was a fire in horses stable at Lahore in King Akbar's time where he has kept Bohra's one Dai Dawood as prisoner. Complete stable got burnt but the nearby place where Dawood was kept remained intact. Akbar than released Dai Dawood bin Qtub shah; issued a official order/letter; and returned Dawood to his city of Ahmedabad in India with full royal honour.

We all are human, Muawiya has not honoured the treaty with Imam Hasan and Yezid martyred Imam Husain. Similarly there are human(other so called Dais) opposing real Dai and it is easy to have different sects. But there can be only one representative of god at a time , which is Imam present on earth and his further representative a Dai which can be one and only one. Again it is your Iman which decide and a real Mumeen can only see real Dai. There is no short cut formula for deciding real one.

It is my belief that Ismaili Bohra are similar to belief of Ithna ashri with only difference that we still have one Imam in remote with his Dai present to guide as representive , but ithna ashri has only one Imam to guide from remote, but no one particular appointed to guide in presence at present.

Please read and understand the text you have referred above! Do you all say and imply that Imam Sadiq (as) was a lier? The name Sadiq it self tells that Imam was labelled and referred by all as truthful, and you bohris imply a wrong allegation on him that he lied to one and all?
