I have, over time, encountered numerous problems which have caused me to repair/restore Windows 7. I don't have an optical drive installed on my system which causes me various issues including not being able to download the repair disk image. I was wondering if anyone knew a way in which I could use the Windows 7 "Create a System Repair Disk" feature with Windows thinking my USB drive is a DVD drive through some kind of script.
In Recovery Console, change to the c:\Windows folder.
Type cd system32\config , and then press ENTER.
Type dir system , and then press ENTER.

You should receive a "One file copied" informational message.
But since Windows 8, Windows has added a new feature to create Windows recovery USB. It is becoming a more mainstream approach in Windows 10/11 due to the portability. So nowadays, the "recovery disk" in the broad sense usually includes bootable USB as well. Of course, if you do not have any USB drive or simply do not want it, you can still use CD or DVD to create a system repair disc.
After creating Windows 10/11 recovery USB, you may want to know how to use it. Then, I'll show you two common ways, namely, using Windows recovery drive or repair disc, and the third party rescue disk.

Well my goal was to do a clean format and reinstall windows to factory setting. I had done that before with the Windows 7 recovery disks that I burned when I first got my Asus laptop. But this time I could not find the recovery program, being fraustrated I tried to restore it using the F9 key, it wanted to restore by making a system image, and then it ended up overwriting the harddrive. Now windows will not boot at all. It goes to a black screen asking for media to boot.
Now the question is will your software help me? Also can I still format and reinstall windows to a clean state?
we just purchased and downloaded Acer repair disk for windows 7. Order # BA9BA8BA62216A1. Problem: downloaded file they are currupt. How can I download these files? Option, can you send them to me as an attachment to an email?
