will be doing her one woman show in LA!
"Have Tassels Will Travel" : A story of fame, fortune, fire tassels
and survival.
I've had a few people ask, "What exactly does that mean?"
Well, she is going to spend about two hours sharing stories, photos
and costumes about her 40 plus years traveling as a burlesque dancer.
Imagine getting to see and feel what it was like to work "Minsky's" or
headline in Vegas and hang with Sammy and Dino. Angel has toured with
Bob Hope on the USO show and survived a motorcycle accident where she
was left for dead. It's heartbreaking to hear how lesbian performers
were treated on the road and how through all of she still manages to
be one of the strongest amazing performers I've ever seen. (and one of
the kindest self-proclaimed b*tches, I've ever known!)
We all have a life story, some are just more interesting. Come spend
the night with one of those lives!
Seats are available and you should come see this burlesque legend
while she is still with us. I can not stress how important the
burlesque performers that came before us are. These women paved the
road so we can do what we do today. The stories Angel tells are
compelling, fun and educational.
Also, Kitten Natavidad & Tiffany Carter will be there to see the
show. These ladies are awesome and while they aren't in the show, if
you have never met them, they are wonderful & kind and you should pop
by their table and say hi! Kitten was a burlesque performer and star
of several Russ Meyers films, Tiffany performed and traveled the
burlesque circuit.
