Hi all,

here are the list of films now confirmed:

The Creator, Monday 6 November, ALec introducing the 'best film of the year' (my words), maybe the best robot / AI film since Brian & Charles?

Typist Artist Pirate King, Monday 13 November, a fictionalised portrait of the late “avant-garde and misunderstood” artist Audrey Amiss in the form of a road with Amiss and her psychiatric nurse. I'm happy to introduce.

Smoke Sauna Sisterhood, Monday 20 November, Estonian documentary about a group of women who gather in a smoke sauna where they clean the dirt from their ashamed and aching bodies. Specially recorded intro from the director in lieu of a regular intro.

Our River...Our Sky, Monday 27 November. Set in 2006 against the backdrop of intense sectarian war, Our River...Our Sky follows the stories of a small Baghdad community trying to find some semblance of normality and hope despite unpredictable violence, turmoil, and loss.

Girl, Monday 4 December. In this coming of age drama, 11 year old Ama and her mother, Grace, take solace in the gentle but isolated world they obsessively create. But Ama’s growing up threatens the boundaries of their tenderness, and forces Grace to reckon with a past that she struggles to forget. Set in Glasgow. Featuring Q&A with director Adura Onashile and producers Rosie Crerar & Ciara Barry.

The Eternal Daughter, Monday 11 December. Directed by Joanna Hogg it stars Tilda Swinton in a double role, playing both a middle-aged filmmaker and her elderly mother who are guests at a mysterious hotel. Steve or Julie to introduce?

Napoleon, Monday 18 December. Biopic directed by Ridley Scott and starring Joaquin Phoenix as Napoleon. It's 2 1/2 hours long (sorry) so 6.45pm start.

In January 2024:

Anatomy of a Fall, Monday 8 January (confirmed)
Godzilla Minus One, Monday 15 January (pending)
Fallen Leaves, Monday 22 January (pending)
Afire, Monday 29 January (also screening as part of the Fokus Film Festival)

Thanks,

John

That'll be great Dominic 🙂
I'm looking forward to Napoleon - I love Joaquin Phoenix's films.
