Let's Talk About The Coney Charity Tournament...

Dear Players,

I have long wanted to host kickball at the Cyclones' Stadium.  After all, various friends from softball leagues have played there, and I imagined showcasing our Finals there.  So when the Cyclones wrote me about this tournament, I was very excited, and I hope you all are too.

The only thing I can do is encourage you to play.  I can't force anyone, nor forge teams like we have for our annual invitational.  Anyone can form any squad they want, and anyone can join those crews.  Some regular Sunday teams may want to represent themselves, and maybe some of the recent All-Star teams may try their luck again.  Perhaps you can invite friends from the other leagues (Toronto, Philly, Hoboken, Providence, Atlanta, etc), or maybe they can invite you.  It's all up to you.

If anyone wants to play, but needs to find a team for the tournament on Saturday, August 24th, please tell me, and I will help place you somewhere.

We will be using Brooklyn Kickball's rules, which I believe to be the easiest to adapt to.  My co-founder and I took great care not to be too deliberative, convoluted, or so pretentious as to believe we know more than Major League Baseball. 

Again, all the proceeds from your $40 purchase go to the Sandy Relief Fund, and everyone gets a t-shirt, some beer, and a ticket to a Cyclones game.  There is a PDF attached if you want to start a team.  Fill it out and send it to Michelle Danzig from the Cyclones.  We're working on a dope trophy too!

So let's get cooking!  Who wants to play?  Who wants to captain a team?  Who from outside Brooklyn wants to join us?  Let's start a great tradition there!
