Even with a cooperative based internet newspaper there would be costs,
perhaps quite small at the start. Many newspapers have difficulties
installing a paywall or providing a user based funding on their
internet based versions. The alternative is the use of advertising to
cost some costs...

The startup costs to do it online are pretty low and I'll bankroll most of them, if needed. We will need someone dedicated to handle the money, set up an account, pay bills. Once we have a way to manage the money (in an open, transparent manner) we should setup a donations mechanism using something like PayPal. Ideally, we can do it without a paywall or advertising (_definitely_ not a Paywall - PostMedia is planning to paywall all their stuff, and not having one will give us a huge competitive advantage).
