West Fork River Rail-Trail (aka
Shinnston RT)
The repair near Shinnston from a
mine blow-out that caused the slip and trail closure is now
complete and the West Fork River Rail-Trail is now OPEN at that
location.
Bad news- The West Fork River
Rail-Trail is CLOSED between Hutchinson and the Harrison County
line to remove a huge log jam against the railroad bridge. Should
be open by end of this week- August 14.
================ Ohiopyle State Park on the GAP-
Storm Damage and Repairs: Please be advised that we are currently
working to clean up areas of the park after recent heavy
rainfalls. The most severely impacted area is the Great Allegheny
Passage (GAP) Trail. There are multiple rock slides and wash outs
on the 27-mile stretch of the GAP trail running through the park.
Please avoid the GAP Trail at this time as current hazards exist
and we have multiple crews running heavy equipment during repairs.
We will update as we make repairs and further access parts of the
trail.
