Good morning,
Please be aware and share-
Mon River Rail-Trail from Morgantown
city limits (trail mile 11.5) to Uffington (mile 13.5) will be
CLOSED TODAY, Friday, Aug. 29 but will be OPEN for the weekend
and Monday.
Work is continuing on storm repairs and culvert replacement.
Be alert as it remains a work zone. Thank you for your patience,
we will update you next week.
MRTCentury Fundraiser is now Underway! I
hope you will promote and support a cyclist or cyclists as they
fundraise for all of our storm repairs, access, and other
projects to keep the rail-trails in great shape. Learn more and
donate at- https://go.rallyup.com/mrtcentury
I will be heavy on the promotion starting
next week.
There is new Trail Parking along Hall
Street in Morgantown near trail mile 9 of the Mon River
Rail-Trail. The City of Morgantown has made this area near
First Street and Campus Drive safer and easier for drivers and
pedestrians with pedestrian crossings, new sidewalks, and 9
new trail parking spots. Thank you city of Morgantown and
especially Morgantown Public Works for these newest
enhancements!

Things to come-
Before November- Mountain Valley
Resources will be working on the five mile section of trail
from Opekiska to Pricketts Fort State Park to return it to
10ft width and upgrade culverts.
Sometime in October- Deckers Creek
Rail-Trail will be resurfaced from Little Greer to Masontown-
5 miles of new compacted stone. This is with partial funding
from the Transportation Alternatives Grant Program.
Thanks and have a great holiday weekend,
Ella
