Meeting behind the Med Express building in Sabraton at 6pm.

Be going up the rail trail moderate pace, every mile we run w/ the bikes.
Coming down we do some starts. Then we just go fast.
Or something close to that.

No clinic.
No standing around bench racing.
Lights aren't needed yet.

Okay, that was scary.
And fast, and fun, and scary.

Me, Betsy, JR, and Mike-Ryan showed up.
Fast runs/bike-carry every mile on the way up.
Starts then fast tempo every mile on the way down. Until we couldn't see

Next week lights will be recommended for the way down...

No decision has come down from the higher ups at ByBc.

Right now we're still tentatively meeting at 6pm behind the Med
Express building in SABRATON.

Workout/ride consists of-
Dismounting, running 16 strides, remounting, and sprinting for 16
pedals on each mile marker on the way up.
Start practice and then fast tempo to the next, on the mile markers on
the way down.

Lights are recommended and if you don't have them don't think we'll
wait for you.

We'll make a more concrete decision later, or you can txt me at the
ByBc hotline- 304-685-3367.

Hey Gunnar, can you post these on the MBC google calendar? I honestly can't
keep up, and I'd like a day's notice.

I'll keep the WVU folks in the know too -since they do use such technology.

WVUCycling.com is currently down, our server guy "cleaned house" and then I
crashed his server re-uploading it.

Executive decision has been made concerning tonight's CX R-T Training ride.

It is officially off.
Too early to be going out in the crap. Plenty of time still to come.
Still kind of tired and a little sore from the Iron Cross/Snuggle Fest
w/e extravaganza.
Betsy's too sweet, she'll melt.

Tentatively we will do this tomorrow evening. But I will let you know.
Thanks for tuning in and turning out.

Still off for the serious effort that is the CX Rail-Trail Workout (RTWo).
Low motivation and legs still tired from Iron Stuff.

Just the way it goes sometimes folks. Course that may be why some of
us are still racing after 20+ years...

See you all at FayVille CX this w/e?-

Well we had a time of it last night.

Me, Betsy, and JR met Gary and Traci and DuncanO "42x15 is fine for everything".
Got in just a couple runs and then on the last posts, the one before
"The Gates to the Great Beyond", at that really cool house on
Rhinewood Dr., Traci was looking at the dogs, thought she was clear of
the posts and then found out she wasn't.
Poor thing went down hard and went down on her already bad shoulder.
So we all commiserated a bit w/ her and then she and Gary went rolling
back down the hill. :(
Had a good time going up, telling Duncan all about things as he had
NEVER been up past Breakiron.
On the way back down we donned our lights, some of us donned our
windbreakers and we did some starts and mile long tempos.
Then we saw Jay-bo trolling up. He turned around and met us for the next Start.
He got in 2 or 3 start/tempo sessions, then flatted on that really
rutted out section going over the road a little before Dave's.
Duncan alerted us to his demise and lack of tube and pump and we waited.
Jay rolled up and I then found out that I had lost my pump (the only
one in the group!) and so with that Jay was screwed and we were off
again to do more starts and tempos.
Jay proceeded to do the runs since he missed them on the way up and
arrived back at his car not too much after Betsy and I arrived home
from the drooling.

So if anyone finds a little black pump w/ a gauge on it, they can have
it, but they gotta promise to carry it w/ them.
I have a few others.

AND I WILL MAKE SURE THAT ALL RIDERS HAVE PUMPS AND TUBES NEXT TIME WE
DO A GROUP RIDE!!!!

Well that's what happened.

If nothing else, forgetting my pump made me get my running in! I got 7
200 yard sections of running in and a few more on the road crossings.
They were a bit sore afterwards as I am not a runner. I also rode the
sides as much as I could so I wouldn't damage the rim and tire. Close
inspection of it this morning showed that to be the case.

I might also suggest that you park behind the MedExpress building in
SABRATON where we start.

That way if you are running a bit behind at least you won't lose that
time going from Wendy's up to there and we may even see you as you
roll up in your Oddie.

Well not many showed up last night.
None of the usual suspects besides me, Betsy, and JR.

It was drizzly, lots of leaves down, kind of sketchy. We did make it
up to Masontown w/o lights, no one flatted, JR only had one eye hit w/
a rock, my attempt at pushing him off the trail at speed failed, and
in general we ran hard, rode hard, and got back to town tired.

Not tired enough to not smell where Ray's Pastries is!!
Right next to Curves in Sabraton. Open at 6am!

Ride was great!
Especially w/ the absence of Chuck-head.

Riding Ms. Betsy home we made an executive decision that it wasn't
going to rain and we should make sure the ride happened.

Me, Betsy, JR, GaryR, MikeV, and Chris? were all there at the meeting
spot, not all on time, but all anxious to get going... in the dark.
Everyone got pretty warm on the way up, not all piggy toes did though.
At the turnaround we put clothes back on that we had taken off, and
then after a few starts and tempos, we took most of them back off.
No one crashed, some nice fast and tight pacelines were had, and we
all got a fine workout with a bonus being the fast, close, and sketchy
riding skills session.

Good time had. No reason it won't continue. So plan on it.

My toes looked like they were going to explode when they finally

Felt like it too.

Pretty sure I had to throw a ninja kick to stay upright as part of the

for you. If you have all the stuff then we will all aid in the fixing
of whatever problems you have (except for the kind of issues Charlie
has...).

So it was a swell time and I must say the numbers are swelling too.

Me, Betsy, MikeVdR, JeffH, and Chris? met and we were off.
Jaybo was only 5 minutes behind, then we met DanC, who was coming
down, but then went back up for a bit.

Running was fine, t'wasn't raining much at all. Then I flatted , BIG
THORN, Betsy heard a Cheetah, and things started getting sketchy.
JeffH somehow lost contact and we all feared cheetah encounter,
MikeVdR poked his head back a little, but got skeered and returned to
the group. Chris? figured he had turned around as we didn't fine
blood evidence.
Made it to Masontown, started heading back down and the weather
started getting high on the suck-meter. Chilly, rain, wind, the dark,
and of course shadow of the cheetah.
A few starts, some tempo pacelining, trying to keep all together,
safety in numbers sort of thing.
Ran into AndrewW, looking like JeffH, and then we kept on rolling
until we were feeling safe amoungst the villagers.
Whew.

Ride on.

Dang, this is starting to sound like fun.

Too bad Jake and I had to be at an SGA meeting pushing some Bike Board
issue. I said I wasn't going to be on the Bike Board.

Before you ask, yea...seemed like everyone was very interested (lots of
questions) and encouraging for the bike/walk path from 8th/Grant to
Evansdale. Maybe soon the flatulent GnB can stop riding their faithful
foolishly fast fendered fixies from Fort up the Arboretum hill every
morning.

It's always been fun.

It provides a convenient excuse though eh?

They are single-speeds w/ freewheeling mechanisms, not fixies.
And we only take the Arb up when it's really miserable, or we're really late.
Usually we go out to Star City and up.
Betsy *always* comes down the Arb though. Always. And fearless too.

Where does one get these funky flatulent fixies?  Izzat something one has to generate with lots of bike mechanical skills (like nunchuck skills, dancing skills, etc.)?   I wnat one!   I will happily take Gunnar's old one off his hands.   And his old decrepid wife too...but only if she'll have me.

Hope you aren't busted up too bad.

I'll be out there @ 6. Might go the whole distance, might not.

Nice weather, though.

WTF???  Betsy's not injured, is she?  Why should she kow-tow to your hunky manliness?
