Good morning all,
ALL ARE INVITED.  Late notice but it would be nice if Country Road Cyclists or any cyclists, or other trail users use the Reedsville Connector Trail that day and walk/run/bike in to the Reedsville park.  Now there is a drinking fountain which makes this an even better spot to seek out.  I will spread the word on MRTC social media early next week so please share and spread the word once Reedsville posts.  Even if people don’t attend, it is a nice way to get the word out that it is there for use!  The Reedsville Trail Connector which was installed a few years ago has road signs to and from trail to the park and was funded in part by a grant from BeActiveWV.  And Reedsville is showing nice investment in its Preston Trail Town identity.  Let’s celebrate that!  Ella

The Town of Reedsville would like to extend an invitation for a ribbon cutting event at the lower park August 17th at 2pm. We have been fortunate to receive grant assistance from AARP for the purchase and installation of a drinking water fountain in our Town Park. This is an addition to the park projects we have planned in phases.

Last year, we were able to improve the upper park with a walking trail, benches, greenery, bike rack, lighting and 2 picnic tables (1 ADA accessible). The Town was fortunate to receive assistance from the County Commission to purchase the ADA picnic table to ensure the park was usable by all!

This year, Sara Saurino and Region VI (Sheena and Rosemary), worked in conjunction with the town council to design the lower park and apply for a much larger grant. If this grant is secured, we would be working on phase 2 to purchase all inclusive big toys, climbers, parking area improvement and landing zones for accessibility.

The ceremony will take place on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 2pm located at the lower park on Long Alley.  This is located next to the Reedsville United Methodist Church.

The Town greatly appreciates all the support we have been able to receive, and we hope that everyone enjoys the park and the improvements we have made thus far!

We hope to see everyone on Saturday!!!
