Hi everyone,

The West Virginia University Army ROTC will be on the Deckers Creek Rail-Trail in the early morning of Tuesday, March 4 from 4AM-8AM.  They will be on the first 4 miles of the Deckers Creek Trail starting at Hazel Ruby McQuain Park to Rock Forge and back. The group of up to 100 will be carrying prop rifles for drill purposes only; they will neither be armed nor dangerous. In the pre-dawn morning they may also be wearing head lamps. The trail will remain open for use.

TOMORROW, March 4th, the early birdwatcher can catch the bird! You can join a bird banding station on the WVU Core Arboretum section of Mon River Rail-Trail (mile 7). From 7:30AM-10:30AM find Chris Rota between the bike rack and the power line. Join in when you want, for as long as you like. You can also join in a short loop hike in the Arboretum as he checks the nets for birds.

You can share from MRTC FB page on either of these events.  https://www.facebook.com/monrivertrails

Thanks to those of you who have been reporting down trees on the rail-trails- I think we have them all cleared.  Cheers, Ella
