Good afternoon trail friends!
Please be aware and share- just posted on MRTC FB

1) Starting MONDAY, November 10, the Deckers Creek Rail-Trail will be CLOSED from the Greer Deckers Creek Plant (mile 9.5) to the Masontown Trailhead (mile 13.5) at Sand Bank Road. This 4-mile stretch is getting resurfaced with compacted limestone. There is no detour. We anticipate this work to take two weeks. Please find other sections of rail-trail to enjoy for your safety and the safety of the work crew.

The Deckers Creek Rail-Trail Restoration project is partially funded by a grant from the Federal Highway Administration’s Transportation Alternatives Program which is administered by the West Virginia Department of Transportation, Division of Highways. The 20% match to this grant is provided by the Monongalia County Parks and Trails Levy and donations to the Mon River Trails Conservancy.

2)  Work continues on upgrading the drainage and surface on the Mon River Rail-Trail from mile 24 (Opekiska) to mile 29 (Pricketts Fort State Park). The trail will be OPEN but make sure equipment operator sees you before going through the work zone. This work will be ongoing during October and November.

3) Restrooms closing down for the season already and this weekend- HRM Park restroom closed, Star City to close on Monday, Masontown to close on Saturday.  Pricketts Fort stays open, three portapots in Morgantown will remain beside trail, and Van Voorhis unplumbed restroom will remain open.

4) Tuesday, November 18, Trail Fix and Feast at Black Bear Burritos from 5-10 p.m. a percentage of your drink and food orders will benefit the Mon River Trails Conservancy. This is on dine-in or take-out orders. Treat yourself and invite your friends!
